One Step Closer marks the new collaboration between India Thieriot and Rey Louise, and it’s rooted entirely in that feeling, giving meaning to the act of holding onto someone. The lyrics are absolutely powerful.
The production sounds iconic. It uses traditional folk textures, but also uses pop ones for extra catchiness. The vocals sound smooth and resonate due to their direct personality.
