Maro has been etching out a pretty unique space for herself as a singer, songwriter, multi‑instrumentalist, and producer. After studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, she became one of Portugal’s most exciting contemporary voices. You might know her from representing Portugal at Eurovision with the touching indie-pop track saudade, saudade, or from her collaborations with big names like Jacob Collier, Eric Clapton, and Odesza.
Jumping onto Maestro’s album Guesthouse with Gloria was, for her, an invitation into a shared creative setting. Her vocals bring comfort to the track, strengthening Maestro’s vision of musical dialogue and inclusivity. While the song draws from his personal reflections on his partner Gloria and the philosophical depth of the Heart Sutra, Maro’s contribution makes it feel open and reflective.
Gloria has more meaning for Maro than a feature. She saw it as an opportunity to participate in a musical conversation that transcends genres and involves listeners in a shared experience. Check it out below!
