Kaya’s alt-folk songs dismantle her past life as a classical harpist, exploring religion, depression, queer love and transformation through a deep, but tender voice. Her new single, Say Yes, Before I Do explores what it means to trust someone enough to let them in, making the simple act of saying yes feel monumental. The lyrics simply work.
I like the production of this song. It features some smart acoustic guitar work, for example, but also has other cool textures. You’ll enjoy every minute of it.
