Megan Winsor’s new single, Coven, tackles the moment you stop trying to outrun something that was never your fault to begin with. Born from years of navigating a predominantly male industry and being mocked for speaking up, the song is a sign of exhaustion. The witch trials, the stake, and the religious imagery woven throughout aren’t accidental. All of it a reflection of how little has changed about the way outspoken women get judged, labelled, and condemned.
But where the narrative society writes ends in isolation, Winsor rewrites it entirely. Coven ends in company. She emphasizes it’s better to stand together than to separate.
Coven‘s production impresses. It’s actually been a while since I heard something so good. The vocals are wonderful too, providing just the right amount of tension.
With Coven, Winsor makes herself heard in the best way possible. Check it out below!
