Where Lazy was the armor on top, Kwik Trip is the wound underneath. The lyrics are so sincere. Sara understands that betrayal doesn’t end when the person leaves. It follows you into the mundane, the everyday, and the places you thought were safe from feeling anything at all.
Drawing from Maisie Peters’ narrative precision and Julia Michaels’ emotional gutting, Sara has written something that thrives in the body as much as the heart. Kwik Trip targets everyone who’s ever held it together in public while screaming internally.
