Lennie Rayen’s latest indie-rock single ‘You Like It is founded on stripped-back honesty and a constant frustration, speaking directly to the emotional turmoil of a one-sided relationship. The lyrics are powerful, in my opinion.
What really elevates You Like It is its purposeful instrumentation. The guitars start soft and slightly distant, then build real grit during the chorus. The drums stay captivating all the way through, forming a cool heartbeat-like pulse.
