Some songs need time to become what they’re supposed to be. ALANI started April Showers in a songwriting workshop in 2022, left it unfinished, and didn’t return until 2025 when a period of personal heartbreak finally gave it the emotional clarity it had been waiting for.
The song explores one of those formative relationships that permanently alter you, as well as the highs and lows of opening up to someone for the first time and the sacrifices involved. Stripped back and piano-driven, it builds from delicate reflection toward a cathartic intensity that feels fully deserved.
