Anja Kotar is a Pop singer-songwriter, producer and classically trained pianist, writing signature sunshine-y Pop. Serving as the “history book” chapter of her single-by-single Bookstore album, Writers & Lovers explores the idea that every era is shaped by two types of people: those who build, discover, and act, and those who observe, document, and give those stories meaning. Moving between references to the Pantheon, Ovid, Julius Caesar, and the ruins of ancient Rome, Kotar draws a line from the past to the present, asserting that while civilizations evolve, human behavior remains remarkably familiar.
I love the production here. Acoustic guitars drive the rhythm while sparkling synths lift the chorus, contributing to a sound that thrives. Beautiful live strings further embellish the song.
