Irene Skylakaki is a musician and songwriter, originally from Athens, Greece. New Found Psychosis serves as the first track from her new album SHAME, which came out in April via Fine! Records. It has catchy electronic textures and a pleasant underlying groove. The vocals are notable because of their quality.
The lyrics are thoughtful as a whole. Skylakaki expresses the frustration of repeatedly asking yourself who you are, only to be met with more questions than certainty. Although she initially resists the confusion, she gradually embraces it, finding a feeling of freedom within it.
With New Found Psychosis, Skylakaki offers a cool meditation on identity, perception, and the strange peace that emerges when life stops making sense. Check it out below!
