Singer-songwriter Cassandra Cole always remains authentic in her music, and that comes across clearly in Friend. It talks about the heartbreak of losing someone she once considered a true friend. Through the lyrics, Cassandra reflects on always being there to offer support, advice, and unconditional care, only to realize that when she needed that same support, the friendship had become one-sided. And yes, that’s not nice.
The instrumentation here is impressive. It has a certain punchiness and quirkiness that you don’t find often. The vocals are pop-like, which makes them strong. You’ll appreciate them.
