Lefuturewave is a music blog based in the Netherlands. We feature emerging as well as established artists.
Emerging queer artist Amé releases their new single, Licorice Candy, which is centered around eating out. The lyrics are predominantly playful. You can certainly call them original, too.
I love the grooves here, driven by bouncy drums reminiscent of 90s hip-hop anthems. Layered over this are a sensuous trombone, a nostalgic detuned music box, and a steely folk mandolin, all tied together by hefty synth basslines. The vocals, of course, sound fantastic.
Amé is certainly an artist we’ll be hearing a lot more from. The way they maneuver through the pop landscape impresses me. Check out Licorice Candy below!
