On Distance & Promesse, French artists Louise BSX and Sarah Maison fuse hyperpop, French chanson, and electronic music to striking effect. The melodic writing is consistently engaging, with the pre-chorus building tension beautifully before the chorus finally bursts in.
“This song was written in the spring of 2025,” Sarah Maison explains. “The track explores the emotional distance that settles in after a separation, whether romantic or platonic. Balancing vulnerability and euphoric energy, it’s about keeping that dance alive despite the cracks.”
