Salt Lake City-based indie-pop artist Reedson creates music for anyone with their head in the clouds. His new single, Elizabeth Street is out now. I think both its guitar work and the drums sound brilliant, and the vocals are incredibly compelling.
There’s a line of thinking behind Elizabeth Street that makes the song hit even harder once you know it. Reedson has shared that his ex couldn’t enjoy a movie if he already knew how it ended. He, on the other hand, could. That difference became the emotional basis of the song.
As Reedson explains, “I wrote Elizabeth Street about how I replay our memories in my head like a movie on repeat, knowing exactly how that one ends, and that he’s incapable of doing the same.”
