Austin-based singer-songwriter Sierra Velez releases her new single, growing pains. It deals with the discomfort that personal growth can bring. We often celebrate who we have become, but rarely acknowledge the uncertainty, resilience, and courage required to get there. Velez wrote this song during a period of change and wanted to convey that growth isn’t always a given, but worth pursuing.
I love the soulful production here, which is anchored by punchy drums and dynamic guitar work. Everything is played live, which makes it extra cool. The vocals feel intimate, but also very immersive when needed.
