Rising singer-songwriter Madeleine McQueen releases her new single, Jackpot, which has a iconic sound that will enchant you. Its mix of delicately plucked guitar, upright bass, pedal steel, and distorted electric guitar simply works. The vocals have a warm, honest edge.
Lyrically, Madeleine analogizes losing bets and gambling with a relationship. She explores feelings of desire, wearing your heart on your sleeve, and being shamelessly in love, only to come up against the feeling of bargaining for a lover’s time, and feeling like any sliver of reciprocation is a massive victory.
Jackpot showcases Madeleine at her best. Give it a listen below and discover the magic for yourself!
