Toronto native Abra Taylor operates under her grandmother’s pen name. She just released her new single, Choke, in which shee yearns for a lover who never quite chooses her. It oscillates between vulnerability and resentment; giving someone your lips, your trust, only to feel them reach for your throat.
Choke has smooth alt-R&B production, featuring atmospheric melodics and a slow-burning beat. The vocals gradually open up, reaching a beautiful peak in the latter half.
With Choke, Taylor further defines her style and shows what she’s capable of. Check it out below!
