Introducing: Samica – Design

Samica is a first-generation Indian American who grew up in a traditional Indian household outside of San Francisco. Speaking fluent English and Hindi, she was raised on a healthy mix of traditional Indian music and the top 40, R&B, and hip hop of Bay Area radio. Learning guitar at a young age, Samica began writing songs but quickly realized there were no mainstream global artists who looked like her or came from the same background as her and became determined to change that. Beginning with covers of international hits on her Instagram page, Samica began building a small but loyal fan base and gained attention with her mashup of Marshmello’s Happier with his first Hindi language collaboration, Bipa which was found and shared by the masked DJ himself across all of his social platforms. Finding her sound as a singer/songwriter with an alternative R&B edge, she released her first single, Alright, at the end of 2019 which was featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds, Amazon’s Introducing R&B, and Apple Music’s Acoustic Chill. The video for Alright¬†was premiered by The Fader.

Design is the alluring second single from Samica’s forthcoming debut EP and it sounds amazing. I like the unique guitar riffs. Besides, the vocals are crystal clear. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the well-written lyrics.

Samica is such a talented artist, she knows exactly how to make good music. Design is the definition of modern art. Be sure to stream it as soon as possible!
