After years of playing in a rock band and, more recently, dream pop collective Candy Says, supporting everyone from Debbie Harry to Idles and The Japanese House, Julia-Sophie has finally found her hullabaloo within the storm. Earning her place in the avant-pop sisterhood of FKA Twigs, Grimes, Half-Waif and Natasha Kahn, Julia-Sophie’s palette is a mix of the hot, liquid, cool and electric: she sings of desire and loss, control and release.

Julia-Sophie just dropped her brand new single I Left You, taken from the forthcoming debut EP Y, due for release soon.

The song sounds so good. I like the powerful vocals. Besides, the glimmering synths are impressive. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the solid hooks and modular sequencer kicks.

I Left You is paired with a stunning music video, directed, filmed and edited by siobhan cox. The visuals are incredible.

On the single, Julia-Sophie says: ”this song is about falling in love and the overwhelming feelings that come with love; the self- doubt, the unknown, the turmoil that emotions can throw at you that are out of your control – and desperately wanting to be okay, and be loved. The painful process of feeling torn and facing my own feelings. But at the same time dreaming about a better future.”

Julia-Sophie delivers once again, she’s so creative and artistic. I Left You has all the facets of a true masterpiece. Start streaming it as soon as possible!
