Luxtides is the solo venture of New York native Danni Bouchard.
She just released her debut EP Flood Sounds. It’s a collection of 5 songs.
A highlight is Salt.
The song has a surreal quality. I like the innovative pop melodies. Besides, the vocals are sublime. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the solid hooks and uplifting elements.
Lyrically, the song is so meaningful. Luxtides’s words are powerful, raw and vulnerable.
Speaking about the track, she says: ”The song is about my experiences in the industry and feeling like I was drowning under all of the pressure. But throughout this pandemic, the meaning has shifted for me. There’s days when I’m stuck in my head, weighed down by self-expectation and beating myself up when I don’t meet it. Salt is a reminder that I can be my own worst enemy but I can also fight for me. I’m trying to make peace with myself, and this song – and EP – are part of that journey.”
