She recently shared her second single Overdrive. It’s a feelgood ‘80s/early ‘90s-inspired pop song evoking comparisons with Dua Lipa, Dagny, and Carly Rae Jepsen. Produced by Dutch producer Mustaj.
The song sound so cool. I like the catchy melodies and energetic grooves. Besides, the vocals are stellar. Furthermore, I’m also a fan of the powerful hooks.
Lyrically, charly shines. She has an impressive writing style. Every sentence is captivating.
Going into a little more detail about the collaboration, charly explains: “Mustaj and I met as teenagers when we both worked as grocery stockers in our local supermarket in the Dutch countryside. We lost touch, until he sent me this beat after hearing my debut single Tanlines. I was hooked straight away and wrote/recorded the vocals in one night.”
The accompanying music video is self-directed and includes fan-footage from all over Europe, with fans participating from home, dancing away during quarantine.
charly’s creativity has no end. She makes real art.
The song deserves to be heard. It’s a masterpiece.
