She just released her new single Better When It Ends.
The song features fantastic piano work, outstanding vocals, pop sounds and unique hooks.
Sara’s writing skills are impressive. She writes with so much depth. Every line tells its own story.
Speaking about the meaning behind Better When It Ends, Sara shared: “I was in an abusive relationship and it took me a long time to see it for what it was. When it finally ended, it felt sort of like waking up from a terrible nightmare; shake, scared and breathless, but slowly feeling the overwhelming relief of realizing it couldn’t hurt me anymore. The monster was gone.
I think to a lot of people on the outside, that relationship looked happy… dream-like even, and I did my best for a long time to keep up the appearance. I started believing that love had to hurt, so much so that when someone would love me properly, I almost didn’t recognize it or trust it. It’s taken me while to shed the things I was led to believe back then, and I still find myself having to work on it.
But the nightmare is over.”
Better When It Ends deserves to be heard. It’s a powerful piece of work.
