Brooklyn soul singer-songwriter Rachel Rose shares new single, Oriole. The song starts out with some calm instrumentation, but later becomes more energetic. An excellently balanced production here. These lyrics reveal a great deal of depth and meaning. Rachel’s delivery is phenomenal.
While mourning the death of a loved one, Rachel recalls asking her grandmother, “If you could be reincarnated as any other living being, what would it be”? Her grandmother confidently responds, “A baltimore oriole”. Oriole is about cherishing life and accepting death. In this moving piece, Rachel rose reckons with loss by fervently declaring all life is connected, small things can have great importance, and our loved ones are never far from us if we carry their loving memory in our hearts. Rose hopes that after a year of great sadness and loss, her fans can turn to this song and find some comfort and peace in this shared experience.
Rachel presents something so genuine. Music like this is absolutely impressive. You can listen to Oriole below!
