Everyone has their own dreams and aspirations, and it’s up to each individual to decide what they want to accomplish. The lyrics in fact comment on the current state of society, where people are increasingly obsessed with material possessions and status symbols. Stromae believes that we should focus on what really matters instead of following the latest trend.
It seems like nearly every day, there’s a new advertisement or post on social media that’s telling us we need to buy something in order to be happy or successful. We’re constantly bombarded with images of people living the high life, and it’s nearly impossible to avoid it. It’s no wonder that people are often unhappy or unfulfilled – we’re constantly being told that we need more things in order to be content. But the truth is, you don’t need a lot to be happy. Just be grateful for what you already have.
