There’s no denying that we all have our quirks, and for some of us, those quirks can be somewhat obsessive or weird. But for many of us, this is our way of escaping from the problems we face. We become so consumed in our weird behavior that we don’t have to think about the things that are causing us stress. And while this may not be the healthiest way to deal with our problems, it’s often better than bottling everything up inside. So if you’re struggling, don’t be afraid to embrace your weirdness. It may be just what you need to get through tough times.

Zealyn’s new single Odd Behavior explores what it means to step away from the daily grind and devote yourself to one thing. She says that the song was heavily influenced by her compulsion to use video games as a distraction from work. The singer-songwriter could easily lose herself in those virtual worlds.

I really like the surf-rock solo in Odd Behavior. It’s impressively done and provides a refreshing contrast to the alt/indie groove that precedes it. Zealyn has a very controlled and authentic voice. What we mean by this is that she doesn’t push her voice too far, and instead sings in a very natural way that makes her sound incredibly convincing.
