It’s no secret that we live in a go-go-go society. We’re always connected and always on the move. And while this may be great for productivity, it’s not so great for our mental and emotional health. We need to take time for ourselves to reconnect with our thoughts and feelings. This is especially important if we’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed out. Reconnecting with ourselves gives us time to breathe and reflect.
Julia Cannon is an introvert who battled with anxiety and depression in the past. For her, the pandemic was a chance to recharge. She felt free when she wrote Glow. Julia could finally relax and not feel the pressure to be someone she wasn’t.
The song’s instrumentation is kept minimalistic, with just calming guitars and drums. This allows Julia’s voice to take the spotlight. Glow is perfect for those moments when you need a little reminder to let go of your troubles.
