Singer-songwriter Francesca Morris drops her new single, Bad Neighbour. It reflects on a situation where she felt exploited and unappreciated by someone who expected a lot from her but gave little in return. The imagery of carrying a heavy load until it breaks and picking up someone’s calls until they have to pay for it symbolizes the emotional toll of the unequal give-and-take dynamic in the relationship.
Bad Neighbour has typical alt-pop production that uses catchy motifs to build a solid foundation. I find the guitar playing here to be the most fascinating. The chorus elevates everything in a big way. The singing hits right.
