Last January, singer-songwriter and musician Izzy Skinner debuted I Used to Know This Guy. It features, of course, her signature violin playing that melts everyone’s heart. I mean, listen to what sort of melodies come out of it. Unbelievable, right? The tension this instrument creates can only be praised. And what about the singing? Well, I believe Izzy also hits the right snare here. She definitely lets you feel what she feels.
Even though the lyrics may seem repetitive, they’re still powerful. They talk about Izzy’s past experiences with a guy in a small town who has a reputation for being mean and sly. The song reflects on the negative influence of this particular person.
