Copenhagen based duo Alpas Ave consists of Marianne Ernst Dam and Martin Pilgaard Grishauge. They release their new single, Water Woman. It touches on the internal conflict of meeting others’ expectations while trying to preserve your own dreams and intuition. Lines about “pleasing every single tongue” and “conflicting expectations” indicate the pressure to satisfy others.
Water Woman marks a departure from the epic club anthem vibe of Alpas Ave’s previous single Orange Calcite, venturing into a more tactile soundscape. This track employs acoustic instruments, notably a ‘campfire guitar,’. Alongside this, the use of a distorted lo-fi beat welcomes a raw, untamed texture.
Alpas Ave approaches music with a visionary mindset. Check out Water Woman below!
