Poster Child is an indie rock band with a psychedelic funk twist. They release their new single, Lazy Bones. Taking its cues from Benny Sings and Mac DeMarco, it delivers a mellow, lo-fi vibe that’s reminiscent of soft rock. I have a fondness for the guitar melodies here, but the drums also shimmer. The vocals make you pay attention to what’s truly being said because they’re so convincing.
Lazy Bones explores the narrative of a person who, following the dissolution of an intimate relationship with a proximate neighbor, develops an unhealthy preoccupation. This person enlists the assistance of a local package delivery professional to intercept floral arrangements intended for the neighbor, in an attempt to thwart potential romantic rivals.
