Oakland-based indie gaze band duo Pillowprince releases their debut single, Mercurial. It’s about the fact that even though you love someone very much, you also know you aren’t made for each other. This can be a difficult realization and result in a painful breakup.
Mercurial is musically inspired by Olivia Rodrigo and 90s shoegaze. It has cool guitars and gets quite gritty during the chorus, which contrasts quite well with the more dreamy verses. The vocals are constantly evolving, right on time.
