Amber Ais is an artist born and raised in Boston, MA. When she was just a kid in grade school, she was already writing songs during recess because she loved music. Fast forward to 2014, and Ais enrolled at Berklee College of Music to study songwriting. That’s when she really got serious about making it as an indie artist and doing what she wanted.
Recently, Ais released her new single, Love Yourself. It asks the question of whether you can love someone who doesn’t love themselves. This is difficult to answer, which Ais also realizes. But she continues to look for clarifications. And for anyone who struggles with self-love, she offers this advice: “love yourself.”
I think the song’s production sounds cool. There are angelic harmonies that overlap beautifully. The acoustic guitar melodies sound graceful and create neat lines within the soundscape. The beat accelerates nicely, keeping the momentum high.
