Singer-songwriter Maya Mendez releases her new single, Have Your Fun. The song explores being stuck in one of those toxic relationships where you feel like you’re talking to a brick wall. Your partner is so wrapped up in their own baggage and selfish wants that they completely shut you out. The lyrics capture that frustrating dynamic where the other person acts recklessly, chasing their vices and dealing with their inner demons, but at your expense.
Have Your Fun builds steadily through traditional folk-pop instrumentals. I like the vocals, as their quality is really high, and underscore the exact emotion of the song.
