Swedish singer-songwriter Salty Licorice shares her debut EP, The Sunrise Cried, including the new track, Metanoia (p.179). It’s named after a Greek word that means both transformation and the risk of repeating old mistakes. The lyrics center around someone who promises never to fall in love again to protect herself, but in doing so, she’s punished for committing a crime she didn’t commit.
Metanoia (p.179) has wavy pop production, channeling the dreaminess of Lana Del Rey and experimental vibe of Björk. The vocals take the lead in directing the sound, which makes them exciting to follow since you never know what turn they’ll take.
