Singer-songwriter Marlen releases her new single, The Stranger. Drawing inspiration from Albert Camus’ novel of the same name, the track explores the experience of living outside society’s expectations, and the courage it takes to stay true to yourself in the face of judgment.
I love the song’s sound, which starts with acoustic guitar and builds with strings during the last half, creating a dynamic push and pull between vulnerability and grandeur. The arrangement feels almost filmic.
