Maria Ellis turns up the heat with her latest single Hater, featuring a bold music video directed by Jasper Soloff. Its drill and trap-inspired production, coupled with smooth pop/R&B vocals, make it an enjoyable listen.
The best thing about Hater is how honest the lyrics are. As Maria herself says, “The song is about realizing someone close to you actually doesn’t like you. Everyone’s dealt with fake friends and this song perfectly encapsulates how good it feels to cut them off!”
Hater gets an A+ from me. It’s energetic, relatable, and fresh. Definitely a track I’ll be spinning for weeks!
