Self-taught, London-based songwriter and singer Emma Tea, has gone from strength to strength since arriving on the scene in 2022 with her compelling and personal alt-pop. She recently debuted Mannequin. It talks about being controlled and objectified, like you’re being dressed up and displayed for others to see. The lyrics are smartly written, free of clichés.
The song takes musical influence from Billie Eilish and Sofia Isella. I love how its production evolves throughout. The singing sounds phenomenal, having some cool theatrical touches.
