Temporary fixes are very easy to reach for. A new purchase, a night out, a distraction dressed up as a decision. Malaika knows the cycle well, and External Things is her most honest look at it yet.
The track sounds bright and immediately likeable, featuring upbeat indie pop textures with light, polished production that somehow makes evading emotions sound like the most fun you’ve had all week. The vocals are wonderful throughout, convincingly presenting themselves.
External Things marks the third single from Malaika’s debut EP Dye My Hair Dark In The Summer, out May 12, the same night she headlines Folklore Hoxton with Biba in support. Check out External Things below, and grab tickets while you can.
