Hailing from Dorset and now based in London, singer, songwriter and producer Malaika is quickly emerging as one of the UK’s most exciting indie pop artists. She shares The Problem as her latest single. It explores the difficulty of trying to enjoy being young and present when the world around you feels increasingly complicated.
I’m impressed by the song’s production because it’s so wonderful. Bright synths and vibrant indie-pop elements give it a colorful, upbeat character, providing a lighter atmosphere around the heavier subject matter.
