Some feelings don’t come out right away. They just settle in calmly, somewhere between the mundane and the overwhelming, and wait for you to finally look at them. Joya Mooi has been looking, and All The Things is what she found. Its lyrics are absolutely revealing, but in a beautiful way.
I love the production here. Bass, drums, guitar, and keys move together like they’ve known one another for years, with Joya’s vocal sitting right on top of everything, intimate and conversational like she’s addressing someone directly. The layered harmonies underneath don’t overreach. They just deepen it.
