Stockholm-based artist and songwriter Adelin uses music as a tool to sort out the emotions that both tangibly and intangibly get their claws into us. With All Goo, from her debut EP Yes It hurts, she makes a strong impression once again. Its lyrics look back on the differences that slowly caused a relationship to fall apart, from diverging life goals to mutual incompatibility, without resorting to the urge to cast either person as the villain. Instead, Adelin acknowledges that a breakup doesn’t necessarily have to be dramatic.
I’m enchanted by the production here, which is typically pop but also brings enough innovation. What I love most is the guitar work throughout. As for the vocals, I can say they sound iconic.
