Kennedy Taylor, originally from Newport Beach (California) and now making her mark on Nashville (Tennessee), is an artist who seamlessly combines a sophisticated ‘West Coast’ style with the sharp, narrative power of modern pop music. Her new single, Temporary, knows to impress. The electronic textures it features, especially during the chorus, are convincing. The vocals feel dynamic right from the start, which means they build up momentum, well, almost, perfectly.
Temporary captures the feeling of chasing a high, even when you’re fully aware it isn’t built to last. But perhaps that doesn’t matter in the moment. It’s about simply feeling something.
