Lovely Trees is the musical project of Toronto singer-songwriter Sally McKay. She releases her new single, Devotion Scenes. I love its nostalgic production, which builds toward an expansive chorus with layered guitars and warm synths. The vocals sound dreamy, which actually fits perfectly here. They remind me a bit of Björk, too.
The lyrics are about longing, memory, and the stories we create around the people we miss. The way everything is delivered is beautiful.
