British singer-songwriter Anna Bea releases her new single, The Fool. It blends folk pop with theatrical influences. I find the piano work throughout particularly beautiful. The vocals are so well layered; their impact cannot be underestimated.
Inspired by Anna’s love for tarot, the song takes its name from the first card of the Major Arcana, a symbol of innocence, blind faith, and entering the unknown. Lyrically, The Fool tells the story of someone who believed every word, ignored every warning sign, and looked back in hindsight wondering how everyone could have seen the truth sooner.
