Singer-songwriter Emily Craig has great potential. She recently released her new single Wildflower. The song is inspired by a weekend with a friend in Barcelona, nine years after they first met when she moved from the Argentine desert to Europe. Before going out, they watched old music videos together and talked about the lives they had envisioned as young people.
The song emerged from those conversations: the question of where you really should be, the longing for freedom, and the desire not to settle down completely, while simultaneously feeling the pull of home and the familiar.
Musically, Wildflower is driven by keyboard, bass guitar, and guitar. It manages to maintain good momentum throughout. The vocals sound beautiful, especially during the chorus.
