Dragonfruit’s highly anticipated debut album Gears of the Giant Machine has finally been released. It’s iconic, incredible and exceeds all expectations. Twelve songs, each with their own flair, make this project a memorable one. A true highlight in the world of soul and R&B music.
Track 4, Digital Princess, is about female empowerment, or empowerment in general. Its fusion of futuristic textures and funky undertones forms an ingenious sound. The groove is unstoppable, bursting with energy. Danique’s vocals are strong, effectively communicating the lyrics. The inclusion of AMAZUMI’s rap verse enriches the production even further.
Dragonfruit comments on Digital Princess: ”It’s about coming to terms with who you are and celebrating that. In the words of Rupaul: “’If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else”. But not only that: if you don’t love and accept yourself, how can you expect anyone else to do so? So again: celebrate yourself. Reflect and recognize what you like and don’t like. Come to terms with what you can’t change, and change what you can if you want.”
Dragonfruit makes an impact by releasing an album like this. Digital Princess, for example, contains everything a great song should have. Because of its international appeal, the song is so accessible. Definitely next level in terms of content. Check out the audio below!
