Carson Ferris is an American pop artist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Provo, Utah. He releases his new single, FOMO. As the title implies, it’s about the fear of missing out. I think we’re all impacted by this in some way. Unfortunately, sometimes priorities must be set and it isn’t possible to do everything at once.
FOMO sounds amazing. What initially comes across as a stripped-down sound progressively expands in texture and fullness. By the time the refrain hits, any pretense of minimalism is gone – the instrumentation truly opens up. But the vocals remain crisp and out front, prioritizing the lyrical message even as the song takes on a more complex tone.
