Singer-songwriter Peyton Shay likes to contrast two polar opposites while writing. This is also reflected in her new song, Daydream Police. Its lyrics are about the tug-of-war between fantasy and control. Shay observes that, although she made big plans, she shouldn’t go too fast, as it would lead to her falling.
Daydream Police features gritty guitars that cut through the pop layer and make you realize from the start that you’re listening to something fantastic. The vocals address the aspect of self-awareness by being lighthearted rather than very bold.
Shay continues to slay. Daydream Police is a cool tune that makes you pause, but also has the power to inspire you to dance like a queen. Check it out below!
