The 10th of October marked an exciting milestone for we are ALVA, as the genre-blurring collective unveiled their debut album and its bold, uplifting title track, Proud Snail!. Against the backdrop of a fast-moving, hyperconnected culture, the song encourages you to slow down, breathe, and celebrate yourself. The lyrics are super powerful.
Proud Snail! is sonically driven by a rubbery, syncopated bassline and tight, sun-drenched guitar riffs, giving it the kind of funk backbone that nods to Jamiroquai and early Maroon 5. Layered on top are lush vocal harmonies and shimmering synth textures reminiscent of early-2000s R&B, filtered through the smoothness of modern indie pop.
