With her retro soul meets indie twang style, Ali Angel is carving a distinct niche in the LA music scene. She releases Lighter. Its lyrics are about that boiling point when fake smiles, power games, and everyday mayhem start to feel like a slow burn you can’t escape. Ali channels her frustration with everything from U.S. politics and social hierarchies to phony people and reckless drivers.
I love the arrangement of this song, which is driven by some very fancy guitars. The vocals sound heartfelt, making them top-of-the-line.
