If you haven’t heard of Dolder yet, now is a good time to start paying attention.
The 22-year-old identical twin sisters from Newcastle have steadily built a harmony-driven alt-pop sound that feels both timeless and entirely current. Their debut EP The Motive introduced them to the world late last year, and now they’re back with Sleeping Dogs, a single that suggests the best is very much still to come.
Recorded in New York with producer Oli Deakin. whose fingerprints are all over CMAT’s celebrated Euro Country project, the track oozes a confidence that comes from time well spent. Deakin’s ear for finding the emotional center of a song and building around it feels like a natural fit for what Dolder do.
For fans who have caught the sisters live, Sleeping Dogs will already feel familiar. It has long been a standout in their sets. That live pedigree gives it an energy that studio recordings don’t always manage to preserve. This one does. Check it out below!
